Zege Safaris was built around a simple idea: a safari is only as good as the people running it. Based in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit, we focus on a handful of destinations we know intimately — the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar — rather than spreading thin across the whole continent.

Our guides are professional safari guides with more than ten years of experience, who also personally handle every booking, itinerary, and logistics question that comes up before a trip. Our team meets guests personally at Kilimanjaro International Airport on day one and, in most cases, guides the entire trip — northern circuit and Zanzibar included. Because the same team plans your trip and guides it, nothing gets lost between booking and arrival.
Zege Safaris operates under Tanzania Tourist Board licence TALA 035907, and every guest is met in person at the airport by the same team who planned their trip.

From there, Zege Safaris pays for everything on your behalf — lodges, park fees, and other costs — so you’re not settling separate bills with each property. It’s a simple, transparent way of working that means you’re never sending a large sum to a stranger before you’ve even landed.
